Background

I get asked regularly why my family and I decided to make our home in Hua Hin. And since some of you may be looking at our area to relocate, I want to give you my main reasons for choosing Hua Hin over other locations.

Through my work as a hotelier I have had the opportunity to live and work in quite a few countries, and in comparison, Thailand always remained my favourite. I admit I have a preference for a warm climate, and combined with a rich culture, the friendliness and hospitality of Thai people and an exquisite and varied cuisine, this country offers a lot of things I truly appreciate.

So why Hua Hin?

First off we have an abundance of beautiful nature in the vicinity, with 3 National Parks within an hour’s drive, and I love to spend time there as nature works inspiring for me.

Of course, as we are located by the Gulf of Thailand, I have to mention the beautiful beaches in our area, and the coastline all the way to Pranburi and Sam Roi Yod Natural Park has so many enchanting places to discover.

Hua Hin has always been a favourite beach destination for Thai people, and that remains true until today. Many own condominiums or houses here and on weekends they escape the hustle of the big city to find peace and quiet at the seaside. Even The King of Thailand has his Summer Palace here, hence it is often called The Royal Resort.

While there is certainly a steady influx of foreign tourists, those who come here seek a more tranquil destination compared to what other famous resort areas provide. While there is plenty of quality restaurants and cosy bars to enjoy, the atmosphere here does not attract those seeking extensive night life. And that is fine by me.
